This is Aaron Caruso, Italian Singer / tenor in New York, nyc - Aaron Caruso - Blog http://aaroncaruso.com/blog.html Aaron Caruso: Blog Jannis' PHPRss class - http://www.jannis.to/ Mon, 14 Nov 2011 20:31:56 -0800 Andiamos in Detroit http://aaroncaruso.com/blog.html/andiamos_in_detroit It was a real homecoming for me to perform at Andiamos in Michigan.  I grew up there.  I first started singing in the restaurant there when I was 18 or so with famed accordian player Tony Dannon among others.  It was a great time and they were always very nice to me there.  I learned a lot about life and music while I worked there and opened for many great showbusiness acts such as the Smothers Brothers and Gary Pucket, so many more big names too many to mention.  I studied all of them and learned so much just being a fly on the wall.  It seems today everyone wants instant everything- stardom, gratification, etc.  I know Ive been guilty of it too.  There is something to be said about coming up the ladder step by step. 


It was so wonderful to see all my friends in the audience, 600 strong.  I plan on doing another concert there next year around the same time.  Hope you can come! Its a showroom like the old Copacabana with the long skinny table and waiters taking drink orders and some light food- then the show starts.  Really an impressive place and a throwback.  Take care!  Aaron

]]> http://aaroncaruso.com/blog.html/st_athanasius_concert_brooklyn_ny Mon, 25 Oct 2010 03:54:53 -0700 This is Aaron Caruso, Italian Singer / tenor in New York, nyc - Aaron Caruso - Blog St. Anthony's Feast Elmont, LI 2010 http://aaroncaruso.com/blog.html/st_anthonys_feast_elmont_li_2010 Well another St. Anthony Feast has come and gone.  What a great time we had this year.  I have never seen a greater procession than the one that goes on here.  The neighbors come out of there house and set up tables with water, refreshments, cut pieces of fruit, etc for all the pilgrims.  The elderly that can't leave their houses are brought bags of St. Anthony's bread by the younger people.  It gives you a good feeling no matter what religion you are.  It shows me that there is still a lot of hope and a lot of wonderful people in this world.  I am also thankful to my friend Marcantonio who runs the entertainment there.  He is a wonderful person, entertainer and friend.  I also have to thank Tony and Anna Gatto for being so hospitable when Im there.  I hope to see you guys out there next year!  Best, Aaron
